- International Flights Cancellation policy
- As per the Saudi Airlines flight cancellation policy you can cancel your Saudi Airlines flight 14 days before you were supposed to fly and get all your money back.
- If it is canceled between 14 days and 24 hours before your departure:
- You can take another flight they offer you without paying extra.
- Also, they will cover hotel, food, and transportation until your new flight.
- You can also cancel your ticket and get a refund from Saudi Airlines. Also, they will give you compensation worth 50% of your unused ticket value.
- Domestic Flight Cancellation Policy
- If passengers cancel their flights at least 7 days before their flight, they have two choices:
- They can take the offered flight by the airline.
- Or cancel their ticket and get all their money back.
- If you cancel their flights between 7 days and 24 hours before your flight:
- You can accept the offered alternative flight without paying extra.
- Saudi Airlines will cover your hotel, food, and transportation until your new flight.
- Also, you can cancel your ticket and get a full refund and compensation equal to 50% of your unused ticket value.
- If your flight gets canceled between 24 and 4 hours before departure,
- You will receive a full refund for your unused ticket.
- They will compensate you 100% of the value of the affected ticket or coupon.
- You will also receive the necessary support and care as per Saudi regulations.
- Delayed Flights
- If your flight is delayed by six hours or more, it is considered canceled. The same rules for flight cancellation apply to you, and you will also get care and support according to the regulations.
- If your flight is delayed by less than six hours, you will receive care and support as required by the regulations, but you will not be compensated for the delay.
- If your flight gets rescheduled within 14 days of your original departure date, and you were offered a different flight that you do not serve the purpose, you can cancel it without any cancellation charges. But, you will not get compensation for refusing the alternative flight.
- If your flight is moved to an earlier date, you can cancel it without any charges and get a full refund for the unused part of your ticket.
- If Saudi Airlines cannot stop at your departure/endpoint, makes you miss your connecting flight, or cannot provide you a seat on a confirmed reservation for reasons beyond its control:
- If you were denied boarding because there were no other seats available, you can:
- Take the next available flight in the same or higher class without extra cost.
- Get transportation to your destination (or part of it) by the same or a different airline or even by ground transportation provided by Saudia, all at no extra charge.
- Choose to fly with another flight or a different airline, and Saudia will cover the cost.
- Request a full refund for the unused part of your ticket and claim compensation equal to 100% of the affected ticket value.
- Exceptions: If you are traveling from the United States to another country, but the details are not mentioned here, deal with boarding denial compensation:
- If they offer you an alternative flight that gets you to your destination within an hour of your original flight's arrival time, you will not get any compensation.
- If the alternative flight they offer you gets you to your destination between 1 to 4 hours later, your compensation will be 200% of the one-way fare, with a maximum limit of USD 650.
- If they do not offer you any alternative transportation that gets you to your destination within 4 hours of your original flight's arrival time, your compensation will be 400% of the one-way fare, capped at USD 1,300.
- Note:
- You will not get compensation if:
- You do not meet the conditions mentioned earlier.
- They provide you with another flight within 6 hours of your original flight's departure time.
- Force majeure conditions apply to your situation.
- If you have special needs and Saudia cannot provide a suitable flight or the required services, you will get compensated 200% of your ticket or coupon value.
- Regarding Seat Downgrades:
- If your seat is downgraded on the same or another flight:
- You will get a refund for the price difference between your original seat and the downgraded one. Also, they will compensate you 50% of the price difference.
- You can cancel your flight and able to request a refund, along with 100% of your unused ticket or coupon value.
- Saudi Arabian Airlines has a 24-hour cancellation policy, specifically for flights to or from the United States.
- As per Saudi Airlines 24-hour cancellation policy, if customers buy their ticket directly from Saudia (from their website, call center, or sales office) at least 7 days before their flight, and then decide to cancel the airlines ticket within 24 hours of the ticket purchase, they can get a 100% refund without any penalties.
- This 24-hour cancellation and refund policy covers all types of tickets, even non-refundable ones like Basic Economy/Saver fares.

- Points to know about ticket refunds and compensation
- Once your request is accepted, you will get your refund or compensation within 10 working days.
- You can choose to receive your refund as cash, through a bank transfer, with a bank check, or as an EMD, depending on your choice.
- If you receive an EMD as compensation, you have some options:
- You can use it to reissue your ticket without any extra fees.
- You can get it as cash, a bank check, or a bank transfer through the Saudia website or sales office. This rule does not apply to tickets issued by commercial accounts or government/royal orders.
- You need to have a valid Identification Document, either in your name or with legal authorization to receive a refund.
- Saudia Airlines refunds the money to either the person named on the ticket or the person who paid for it after checking the all necessary documents.
- If someone else bought your ticket, and there are refund restrictions, Saudia can refund the money to either you or that person, but they will need a formal letter of authorization.
- You will only get a refund when you provide the ticket number of the unused ticket or its receipt, along with all the unused flight coupons (unless the ticket is lost).
- Saudia Airlines will not be responsible if they refund the money to someone who presents the ticket receipt and unused coupons as per the conditions mentioned above.
- Involuntary Refunds by Saudia Airlines
- According to Saudi Airlines, if it cancels flights, does not follow the schedule, cannot stop where they supposed to, does not offer you the seat you reserved, and makes you miss a connecting flight on the same booking, Saudia will refund the ticket.
- For tickets you have not used yet, you will get back the same amount you paid for them.
- For tickets you have already used:
- You will get the refund based on the "GO fare" from the unscheduled point to where you were supposed to go next, minus any discounts and fees.
- They will give you the difference between what you paid and the fare you used.
- Voluntary Refunds
- If you decide to cancel your flight (voluntary refund), let's check how Saudia calculates the refund amount:
- you will get back the fare you paid for tickets you have not used yet. But they will deduct the airlines cancellation fees and any applicable service charges.
- For tickets you have already used, they'll calculate the refund by taking the fare you paid and subtracting the fare you used, including any cancellation fees according to the rules.
- Saudia's Refund Policy for Lost Tickets
- If you lose your ticket, you need to show enough true evidence that it is lost and pay the service fee.
- No part of the lost ticket should have been used or refunded already.
- The person who got the refund agrees to pay back the refunded amount if there is any fraud, like if someone else uses the lost ticket, or if the ticket gets refunded to someone else who has the ticket.
