  • If your flight arrives:
  • Within 2 hours of the original scheduled time for Voucher A.
  • Within 3 hours for Voucher B.
  • Within 4 hours for Voucher C.
  • Your compensation will be reduced by 50%. If you have requested a voucher, you will receive an email about its status. You can also check your request status on My Trip.
  • Note:
  • You can use up to 2 vouchers when buying a new ticket or extras on KLM, Delta Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, or Air France.
  • If you cannot use the full value at once, you will get a new voucher for the remaining amount.
  • KLM vouchers cannot be used for paying taxes on Flying Blue reward tickets or for KLM Holidays. 
  • You can exchange refundable vouchers for cash within 1 year of receiving them.

B. Flights over 1500km within the EU and other flights between 1500km and 3500km:

C. For all other flights:

  • Non-refundable Credit Voucher: €800*

  • Amounts are subject to change and may vary depending on specific circumstances.
  • Please Note: 
  • Your compensation will be halved (50%) if the new flight arrives no more than 2 hours later than your original flight for A and B flights, or no more than 4 hours later for C flights.
  • No compensation is given if the flight is canceled due to exceptional circumstances beyond KLM's control. And if KLM did everything reasonable to avoid the cancellation.
  • These compensation rules follow EU Regulation 261/2004. If your flight leaves from outside the EU but lands in the EU, different local rules and compensation may apply.

Flight Delay Compensation and Assistance 

  • If your flight is delayed by at least 2 hours, you have the right to get the following without extra cost:
  • Refreshments and meals are based on how long you're waiting.
  • Hotel stay plus transportation if needed.
